Anybody try this one? I just ordered it off ebay for $60 shipped. All the reviews I read were pretty good.

I used this version in my suv because I hate wires showing, you can mount the mic/control button in a better spot. This unit works great, but you do have to restart the player on your phone. I ordering the blackberry unit for the Lexus.

personally. I hated the sound quality of bluetooth. Using a usb-aux cable has much better sound quality. And the cost is only ~$6.

Has anyone that has encountered the random disconnects try keeping the Blackberry Gateway unit outside the center console? I'm wondering if the nuisance of having my music get interrupted is worth the leisure of not having to connect my phone every time I step into my car.

In addition, has anyone found the Blackberry Gateway for $25 as listed on the first page? Looks like the cheapest I've found is $39.99 with free shipping from MacMall as Silk509 posted.

I bought at macmall for $40 a few months ago. That's the cheapest I could find too.

Been using it a few months with no problems....disconnect or otherwise.

I read the 09 models still dont have the full data transfer via Bluetooth capability, however does that apply for ML system or it has nothing to do with it?

I am also looking for best wireless solution, possibly data transfer meaning to be able to control songs and see titles from the car display? If wireless is not available, whats best wire solution for HTC/droid/USB phone? I already have an Apple cable installed in the car that transfers digital/data signal but I don't want to switch to iPhone just because of it ..

Thx!

Has nothing to do with it.

06-09 all have the same radio systems functionally.

2010 is when they moved to 6th gen systems that added the newer BT profiles.

Do you mean you have the "factory" ipod adapter?

that's just an aftermarket ipod integration kit Lexus slaps their logo on.

if you want control/display of songs you need exactly that type of kit, but would have to find one for android... afraid I'm not familiar with that, most of em seem to play up ipod/phone integration.

I got the car with the ipod/phone integration in it. It controls and displays songs/folders on the navy display. I suppose that's digital data/signal.
HTC is USB/HDD type of connection which I am looking for unless I give up and switch to iphone

Does anyone know where to purchase the blackberry bluetooth music gateway? Looks like its been discontinued. Right now Amazon has it for $139! Ouch! Any other alternatives available?

Thanks

If you use this Blutooth device AND you have Blutooth in the car for phone calls OR you use a BT headset, you have to choose which BT device you want to use as your device will only accept one Blutooth device at a time.

There's a trade off, you either get music or phone...not both

Definitely not true. I use this bluetooth adapter in my car and the car seemlessly switches between the phone and music whenever I get a call or need to make a call. Music is muted during the call and then comes right back on after the call is ended.

And all of them say "back-ordered". So you can go ahead and place your order and pay but I'm guessing you'll not see the product for quite some time. Blackberry has apparently stopped making this so the price is going to keep going up.
