Hey Steve,

They're right, they're different part numbers for the grille surround. The picture above is a non F-Sport Grille Surround with a F-Sport Grille Insert and as you can see it fits right in the pre-set tabs. Waiting from (CalMike) for full confirmation on the install.

Does this grill insert fits? 2009/10 IS 250-350 grill surround?
This question has not been answered......
We know It fit in between F-Sport and Non F Sport year 2011.

First off, special thanks to LexTuners for all their help with my questions and for ordering the grille upgrade for me. It was my first time ordering from them and they went out of their way to help me -- the customer service went above and beyond my expectations. I spoke with Gabriel Valle who was particularly helpful in acquiring the parts I needed. Plus, their pricing is very competitive, and if you do find something for less elsewhere, I believe they will try to beat it. Please excuse me for sounding like a commercial, but since these guys really provided top-notch assistance for me, mentioning them here feels like the least I can do.

Anyway, the upgrade should be complete shortly. The process is a little more complicated than the average do-it-yourself job as the front bumper on the 2011 is a particular pain to remove, especially the main bumper attachments on the quarter panels under the fender coverings. Most troublesome is the grille surround on the upper insert, which is extremely difficult to take off on the 2011. It seems to have different tabs and fittings than from previous years. I started out using the DIY upper grille removal guide by user 100plus, but there are differences when working on a 2011. I spent time covering the area with automotive masking tape so as to avoid scratching the bumper around the grille surround. The grille surround part itself is especially delicate and it would be very easy to fatigue or break the brittle plastic tabs when trying to remove it from the bumper. As with many mods, this one has to be done carefully, with extra patience, and at your own risk. The weather-stripping was another obstacle worth mentioning, but not as bad as the grille surround. I will try to confirm whether everything fits by tomorrow or Thursday and will post pictures if all is successful.

They make one specifically for the 2009-2010, you should order that one to be sure.

I've placed the order for one for my 2011, I also ordered the lower one as well. Not sure when I'll get around to installing them, but I'll be sure to post an update.

Ok, So you do have one foe 2009 IS.
Now I should have ask better my question. Should I buy with Pre-Crash or without Pre-Crash?
How do I know which one to order.

Don't have the guts to be the first, but am hoping someone with an 06-08 model will try this for fitment. Always better to use OEM in my experience and if it just takes a little cutting then should not be too bad...

+1 for 06 - 08. Will this fit and how much effort is involved??

If your car has the Pre-Crash (aka Pre-Collision) System, then get the one with it. If not, get the one without. Grille design is the same for both, but the emblem holder area is different because of the Pre-Crash system. You should know whether your car has this system or not.

The insert on the left is for Pre-Collision/Pre-Crash system and the one on the right is for Non Pre-Collision/Pre-Crash System. If for some reason you can't tell if you have Pre-Collision System look at the first picture on our site the white IS has Pre-Collision system. They will not fit 2006-2008 IS models.
