Default Black vinyl for chrome trims?

I have a black IS and I'm thinking about doing this for the chrome around the window and grill surround. Anyone with experience, Pros/cons? Pics? I was quoted $60 for the grill surround and $160 for the window trim. Sound reasonable? Any info would help. Thanks

Vinyl is pretty easy to work with and it's very cheap...like 4 bucks for a 4 by 2 foot sheet. I just recently did my front grille surround and on my previous car I did the window trims. A blowdryer, some patience and some razor blade skills is all u need.

You're getting charged too much. Last night, I carbon fiber wrapped my whole wood trim inside for only $15 and I still got half of the carbon fiber vinyl left over. Doing the grille surround and window trim is an easy DIY. My suggestion would be Plasti-Dip. Clean the chrome trim first with water is good enough. All you'll need to do is tape up the surrounding of your window trim and spray the stuff. It's less than $10 a can and you can do the grille surround and window trim in under 3 cans. So you can spend $220 or $30 to do it yourself.
