Yep, mine does that too. Take it to your dealer.

It's a common ISx50 issue and LEXUS dealers fix this under warranty.
There is a TSB for that in Lexus knowledge database.
Bad thing is that they have to dismantle the dashboard to fix it.

Pop comes from the instrument cluster.
It's an easy fix.

Jamming a few pieces of black eraser in between the windshield and the dash goes a long way into tightening it up so it doesn't move and cause the clips to make noise. It's cheap and easy, seems to work and it keeps your dash in one piece.

Sent mine back to dealer about a month back and they fixed it by installing a new part (rubber clips) to hold the dash. Didn't hear anymore rattle thereafter. Might want to check with your dealer.

I'm going to have to pay more attention to it. I thought it was coming from somewhere else

The main cause is from behind the dual vents in the center, its a clip that holds them together causing the popping. Its caused by the heat/cold expansion of the plastic.

I know mine is not there, i hear the same click/pops even when i have the whole vent section removed. It seems to be from off to 6 inches to the passenger side from center.

Where are the dash clips located that someone mentioned? these noises are no where near as bad as the squeaks on my 4runner were--those ended up being the metal bar that does across the dash for support!

Just look the TSB pdf in the beggining.
You will see the location of the clips.
If the car is still under warranty everything can be fixed by Lexus dealer free of charge with the new parts Lexus has produced.
There is also a new rubber seal that goes to the the middle of the dash on the top of heat exchanger.
Cars made after 2008 don't have these problems because Lexus upgraded the quality of the clips (Rubber ones).

I cannot get to the PDF, it will not open--just sits there until it times out. However mine is no longer under warranty, so pulling out hte dash (if that is what it takes) is a bit too much--I will go the erase route or something else if it is cheaper/easier/quicker.
