Screens in the intake path
My car has a mesh type screen in the upper air cleaner box which sets on top of ( after ) the air filter, and it has a metal screen after the throttle body at the intake manifold. Has anyone removed one or both of these screens?

I think only the carbon filter in the air box was removed and showed no dyno improvement???
I have been tempted to remove the wire screen between the throttle body and intake but never got around to it. Also engine coolant is run through the TB to warm the incoming air. It's an old school trick to bypass the TB to keep it cooler. Again, never bothered to try it out. Mine is a daily driver so I don't want to take any risks. Besides, winter just arrived.
The intake air box is the same for a 250 or a 350. So if it can serve the 350 well then the 250 with one liter less displacement should have no breathing problems.
I am not too sure if the 250 and 350 share the same throttle body so I am still curious about the wire screen. The intake is way different.
Since the wire screen is also a gasket, I would get a new one from Lexus and cut the screen out at your leisure. Then the install time will be much quicker.
