Default Before and After - Rebuilt

When I bought it...

After a little buffing and wax came this... but after 45 minutes of driving it for the first time some drunk lady ran into the back end. Luckly I didn't put the rear GFX on yet so I'm just going to pull the cover and repaint it. I also messed around with some vinyl as well.

Major difference. How much did it cost to repair all that?

Looks great. Thought it would be salvage only.

just my curiosity, why is the hood not shut evenly? (the gap on the right is obviously bigger)

Its just a crappy camera and a bad angle that makes it look like that. I still have a few things to finish up on it. The gap is there because I haven't picked up the rubber strip from the dealer yet. I have the black pearl emblems coming for it as well. I have the F sport sways I took off another is we had come in and I thinking of throwing them on this car.

damn! those before pics were hard to look at. even the result of the lady backing into your ride looks harsh. but overall, a very impressive turnaround. great work!

Very nice work, can't even tell based on the pics. And that color has always been a favorite of mine. I'm doing the same thing with an IS250 right now too. And I'm also from IL. That looks like a big hit. Did you need many new parts or one of those times where it looks much worse than it is? Did you get new or used parts for it?

Oh, she didn't back into me, she ran into me during rush hour. She opened her door after the smash and literally rolled out of her car she was so drunk. She couldn't stand or speak. The Police put the cuffs on her while she was sitting in her car.

It didn't look that bad in the pictures but once I got it, there was alot more to be done, but I know this. I rebuild and fix cars for a living. I work for a yard in Detroit and parts are mixture of new and used. New cover, hood, used fenders, headlights etc. I just paint whats needs to be painted and either pull parts off our other cars or order them and put it back together. . I met the previous owner as well. Its a long story but here we go...

So upon getting the car there were no keys, the auction yards do not have the contact information of the previous owners so I had to contact the insurance rep thru the auction yard and then they were able to call the owner and she called me. I was trying to track the owner down thru just research on the internet using what was in the car when it came to me. With the research I did and confirmed by her. Her BF who was a doctor was driving the car last. There were a ton of script's written for controlled drugs and I though it seemed a be fishy and there was just so much evidence that he was writing illegal scripts and cashing them. Come to find out he is currently in jail for that and was arrested when he smashed the car. I met up with her to get a key and exchange his belonging that were left in the car including uncash checks over $6000.
