there are carwashes where you pay like couple bucks and it provides you with a space and a high pressure hose to do it yourself. thats the best option.

Agreed. Even the touchless washes are really bad for your car since they use really abrasive chemicals to get everything off (including wax) and fillers to make your car look good temporarily. Hand wash only here, I want my winter wax to last!

Yes no more free car washes anymore..that is now set in stone.
I like Mashin A's suggestion..would have to find a place where they would let me do it myself..any suggestions..am in DFW area.

I also read about OPTIMUM NO RINSE (ONR). Has anyone used it?

Ditto .....I don't trust the lackies they hire to do the dirty work.

you dont really need a water hose to clean your car, all i use is mf towels and a spray bottle, of course the trick with this method is to clean your car EVERYTIME you drive... but hey, if chicks can spend 40min - 1hr preping themselves before they go out, we (guys) can spend 30-40min preping our cars too

ONR is pretty good, that's what I've been using. It's really good in the winter since you can do a panel at a time.

I use to be **** about dealership washing my car when I first bought it. After almost 3 years of owning my car I really start to care less. They use hand wash and usually do a pretty clean job. Sure, it leaves some fine scratches but nothing my PC7424 can't take off in seconds. I polish my car every year anyways so it's not a big deal.

Hmmm went to get my car headlight fix yesturday and they ran it through the wash. I noticed they they like to dry down the car with dirty rags(swirl mania) but to lazy to say anything. Besides idk if it would be rude of me to tell them how to do things. But maybe i will give them a recommendation next time i go. Just buy a spray nozzle for shampooing car, a light wash with a mit, rinse, air gun dry, spray on sealer/wax and your good to go. Thats about as clean and simple a car wash as you can get. A investment like that is about 300$ and will keep the car cleaner and more satisfied customers that will keep coming back even though its a simple thing as a car wash. I don't know why it has to be us against them mentality. Another thing I noticed is on the wall they have pictures of all the car salesman and they all seem to be going bald LOL. Its the diet trust me but back on topix

We have to go on here and complain about the dealerships when it can be very easily be fixed for us and other people. Its kind of ridiculous that people are afraid of getting their lexus fixed and upkept at a freaking lexus dealership. If you are an avid detailer or know what you are doing then speak up. If they dont take your advice then cool. If they do then great. Whats even better is that the dealership can start telling the customers to take their car to the dealership to wash it instead of going to a car wash that will damage the paint. That way the dealership can hag them into get some service done ha! Also all our lexus cars be looking real fresh!
