a Jeep hit my IS today, img attached.
It was a nice Saturday afternoon, my daughter just got out of ballet class then pick up my wife from the nail salon then went to Pathmark for grocery.
Grocery was done all bags in the trunk and ready to go... all of a sudden... A Jeep Grand Cherokee hit my rear bumper, Driver Side.
I was backing up from my parking spot and all of a sudden this black jeep backed up so quickly that I didn't even know where it came from! You can actually see in the pics that I am already back out from my parking and ready to go the other driver is obviously not looking while she was backing out.
First I check my daughter and my wife if they were OK then... I went out of the car and did my and and and especially
I immediately called 911 and ask the operator to send an officer to the scene of the accident and then I took out my phone and took a whole lot of pictures even videos. Pictures are attached on how badly my IS got hurt... I took a picture of the jeep too, the Jeep only had small dents/scratches.
Police got there ask my side of the story and her side of the story and went back to the car and did his report. He did not show me his report he just gave me a piece of paper where to go to pick up the report.
After all this... got home and went online at progressive and filed a claim.
Can anyone predict... Who's fault is it going to be in the police report? & Estimate repair for my damages?
Thank you.

I say $3400 because they need to cut that 1/4 panel off, weld a new one, grind down the welds, etc... And it looks like that inner flange for your bumper is broken so you'll need a whole new rear bumper. Tail light might have a broken clip too

sorry to hear that man...i say it's gonna be about 2k. i had a similar dent in the exact same position on my IS too. if you're local to the edison area, i can recommend a very good and reasonable auto shop. they did a great job and i can't even tell...looks like the accident happened in rahway by the looks of the police car.

Sorry to hear about the accident.
Did you find any witnesses? Most likely she is gonna say that she was backing out first and you got in the way. If you have a witness to account that you in fact backed out of your spot first, then it will be the Jeep's fault.
Other than that, I think that she can pin this one on you. Worse case, if they can't prove who is at fault, then it become 50/50.

Sucks! Sorry for your ordeal. However, you are lucky a police car came out. I got broad-sided and my car totalled, and I couldn't get a officer to come to the scene. They said as long as no one was hurt, they aren't coming. A police report and witnesses are everything.

Dam, that sucks~~
Is there any surveillance camera at the grocery store?! if there is, ask for the tape/clip.
Did you take any picture when the car at its place when the accident just happened. Because that would prove who had the right of way, too.
Well, good luck on your case.. ^^
