Default 1st contribution to this thread

Here is my first contribution to the 2IS carbon thread. A little different than most interior CF projects. I'm still not sure I want the whole console done in CF, and eventually I will replace this with some carbon/Kevlar, but I think it looks pretty good. If you look really close you will notice that this weave is different than most of what you see made of CF. This is a plain weave that I happened to have, most cosmetic CF is a 2x2 twill. I've done plenty of carbon work in the past, but it has been a several years since I have wrapped anything. This isn't perfect, there is always a learning curve, the passenger side will be easier and turn out better.

Looks good. I tried one of those (a spare one) and the edges weren't perfect, need to redo. Currently doing a second set of interior wood grain trim all in carbon. Nearing completion, such a long process!

As it turns out those little side garnishes are rather challenging. From the pics above you can see I had it looking nice, I even further polished it after the above pictures were taken. Then the car sat out in the sun day after day as the weather started getting hotter. Because the thin end is unsupported by anything, when this piece gets hot the plastic expands, and the carbon doesn't, which results in the following:

Then after the car sits overnight in the garage the part cools back down and it looks great again. There are a couple of potential ways to fix this problem, we will see if the first method works here in a week or so since I'm working on the passenger side part today.

^ Is that vinyl?

Here's my completed real carbon interior. Only made sense with the carbon backed seats and carbon hood I'll probably redo my center console because I'm not completely happy with it though

Heyarms, wasn't a big fan of it at first but it grew on me. Check the difference:

This thread is for real carbon fiber. There's a thread for "show your interior thread." You can post in that.

Yeah I've been meaning to grab an F sport one, the blue stitching rubs me wrong though. Lol.

Thats why the IS-F red would work - you can always get both and blend...

Or buy an F Sport and have it re-stitched.
