Well it looks like its glued on to the trunk im not going to mess around with it...I think its stupid but its like the factory didnt want us to F around with the plate light for some reason or another lol...

You cut the housing and you can pull out the circuit board. Put it back together with silicone and epoxy. Sand it down and paint, if you want to hide the epoxy.
Hmm, I'll give this a second attempt, right now, my LEDs are taped over the stock ones and disabled. It's perfectly fine but I would prefer it inside the housing. Where exactly do you cut the housing? I tried heating it up with a heat gun and using a soldering iron blade to cut it open but the plastic seems quite hard to cut.
The LED is integrated as part of an assembly, therefore you need to replace the assembly. Notice the part number is for the assembly, not in particular for the LED bulb.
I think CJ22 found this out and managed to replace the LED but in there but it is not that easy.
