As mentioned when I upgraded from my '06 halogens to the '11 HIDs (from Sewell) - I lost the ability to manually adjust the headlight level through this dial.
I know I can manually adjust the lights using the adjustment screws, but this is a real pain! Surely the '11 HID auto headlight levelling through the AFS computer uses the same control wires to the servos which pitch the lights as the manual headlight adjustment dial.
Has anyone else encountered this??? Help!

I've attached a picture of the manual headlight adjustment dial I am talking about.

Don't the 2011 headlights elimiate the AFS feature?

I swear, the minute ANY company comes out with aftermarket Headlights with these LED strips, they are going to make a TON of money. I personally love the new look, especially because I have a white exterior, and the LED "Swoosh" is white when not lit so it looks amazing with the car. Let's just hope this happens sooner then later.
Realistically paying 2-3k for lights is just TOO much especially considering the only real difference is that the good looking LED strip is there and the blacked out housing. I'd pay $600 tops for these lights. I'm sure they are cooking something up in asia lol.

Here is some more information I did not seem to find on here.
I just installed the kit from sewell on my 08 IS350.
Its plug and play but you have to reuse your ballast. (which sucks to remove)
My AFS light consistently blinks, but the Multifunction display works fine.
The LED's are only on with the low beams or if you have the parking lights engaged. They do not come on in AUTO mode. Just to clarify.

A new revised flasher from the 2011 model did the trick. It was also fairly easy to replace, just 2 screws to remove the lower kick panel, squeeze down to the floor board and look up 6-8 inches by the brake pedal arm and you will see a small brown box (1x1x1 square) clipped to a metal arm. Un-clip it, unplug it then plug in the new one and that's all there is to it.
I say this in relief as I was expecting the flasher to be behind the instrument cluster. Fortunately for us all it wasn't.

Has anyone else gotten the new relay for their 2008?
*Edit* I got the new rely to fit in, it still blinks super fast.
This is not fun anymore.

''Stripped'' Headlamp Set - the economical option that does not include bulbs and ballast. Installation requires original ballast to be used and original bulbs.
''Loaded'' Headlamp Set - for the novice. Seamless installation, all plug and play. All hardware, bulbs pre-assembled for a worry-free installation for the typical novice. Required for IS models factory equipped with Halogen Lamps.
