Never got a fix it ticket for my tinted tails.....
Until today - my lights weren't even on, but whatever. I have had cops do a walkaround of my car at the goaddamn airport and not write me up. So confused. Anyways, I'm basically resigned to finding OEM ones right? Would any of the ebay ones pass the inspection? I'm thinking of just buying these:

Anyone with experience in this area or knowledge of an *ahem* reliable source to handle my situation would be greatly appreciated.

just borrow someone's taillights slap them on real quick and get it signed off.
that sucks you got a ticket, i got ticket for for tinted front windows and the cop didn't say anything about my tails, not even the cop that signed off my ticket in broad daylight.
i actually had those ebay lights on my car before except with chrome inside, they're legit and really easy to install, either way good luck!

The cops in Cali seem to be out in full force the past month or so. Funny, considering the budget cuts....
I got pulled over in my Trans Am for no front plate, and I have no bracket. I usually carry it IN the car so I got out of the car, took some duct tape, strapped in on good and thick right in front of him. (OMG you should have seen it, it was so friggen ghetto) - When he said that the plate should not be able to come off, and that it should be on permanently, I looked at him and told him, "YOU try to take that off, that ain't goin' NO where." He started to laugh, told me to get a proper bracket put on, and let me go.

n when you do borrow tails from someone, drive straight to the 'whatever place' then drive straight home and swap them out, you dont wanna have someone clip you and damage them~

MV - it's all good, my work is on a pretty tightly controlled stretch of road. Totally worth it compared to vinyl. No idea why that CHP guy was feeling his oats that time. I have been ticketed by other motorcycle cops for speeding and whatnot and they didn't write me up for any of the other stuff. He probably wasn't appreciating my ghetto muzik He even asked me if the car was registered in my name! I wanted to tell him off but didn't want to rile him up about all the other **** I have (8K lights, no front plate, yada yada yada).
windex - I'm in 714, so kind of far. I don't even know if I can get it signed off in LA county if I live in OC. I got as month to figure it out so no rush really.
I wouldn't mind buying those ebay tails I linked, I just want to make sure the cop won't throw a hissy fit over it since the CHP guy said it must be "reflective" and those have matte black paint on the inside of a clear lens.
