Question running non-staggared 18" to 17"
Hi guys,
I have a question for the experts.
I'm picking up a set of winter tires on 17". Tire specs are 215/50/17 all around.
My car is currently equiped with 225/40/18 front and 255/40/18 rear. I know that my abs, trac control will be affected because the ecu is programmed for the staggered setup. Can anyone let me know if I should be even concern about the change?
Also, when I used the online tire calculator, changing from 225/40/18 to 215/50/17 will give me an increase of the actual speed I'm travelling. Example it's reading 60mph but I'm actually going 60.9. But when I used the calculator to calculate going from 255/40/18 to 215/50/17, it gives me a decrease in speed. Example I'm going 30MPH but the actual is <30MPH. Can anyone let me know where the speed sensor is taking from (front, back)?
I did research and got some mix answers.
