There are conditions where auto off will be disabled, such as when the door is opened before the car is off, but again, the lights can be forced off through a double lock on the key fob.
Having the same problem. Even double clicking lock on the key fob button does not work. Any fix?
Auto off works with lights in Auto or On--the lights will stay on for the set time. When lights are in marker/parking, they don't stay on.

Double locking with the key fob should turn the lights off immediately; if not, I wonder if the LPS was changed. You may have to pay the dealer to have the LPS changed again--if you sweet talk the SA, maybe they will waive it...

I had the same problem. Recharged the battery 4 times before I realized it could be the door switch. To test this I simply opened each door and watched the door open light come on the dashboard. All the lights came on instantly except the driver side. When I opened the driver side, the light came on but delayed several seconds. I replaced the door switch for $11.00 from EBAY and the problem is resolved.

The headlight was on auto position. Click lock once, doors locked. Click twice headlight is still on. I clicked a few more times. Headlights still on.
I ended up open the door and manually turn the light off and then turn back to auto position. I have to do this today too.
Could anyone help out? What's wrong?

What if double click on the key fob still won't turn off headlights? Any fix? This happened to my RX 350 yesterday after car wash at the dealer. Light is at auto position. Did someone changed something/setting and didn't tell me?

Exclamation

Any door switch ajar leaving the dome lights on will hose up the whole thing. Check all door switches!

I have seen mine do this; preface, I leave my running lights on all the time and manually turn headlights on as needed.
Open car, turn ignition to on (not starting engine), turn ignition off, close the door and Walla - it has left the lights on.

I have no need for lights when I depart the vehicle, so - Connect Techstream and set the delay to Zero. Now when you open the door it turns them off immediately.

I still haven't been able to figure out if this is a coincidence or not, but the only time I had this issue was when my battery was on its last legs (it failed to start 2 days later). Replaced it, and no such issues since.

All this "auto" technology seems to be driving everyone batty. What did we do before all this high tech crap was installed in cars? Does anyone remember that we use to have a light "on"/"off" switch to turn the light on and off manually. Seemed no one had a problem with that. Suggest that when the high tech goes out, that you just revert to manually turning the light on and off.

Most of our new technology is "a solution looking for a problem". How's that working out? (Boeing 737 max?)

Like the auto wipers. It’s just not sensitive enough in light rain. I sometimes miss having regular intermittent wipers.
