Vaistech MultiMediaLinq - USB / iPod / iPhone / input
Okay I tried doing the installation today, HUGE headache. I got the centre console & nav unit out pretty easily (with the right tools). After plugging in the Vaistech unit there was a response from the nav screen but I never got the setup beeps that were suppose to come through. I repeated the setup instructions, but still no beeps. Then I started to notice that the clock light started to fade, then there was no sound from the radio, then the nav screen went out. I panicked! Disconnected the Vaistech unit, put all the wiring back to stock settings and tried starting the car - battery was dead. Had to get a jumpstart from my neighbour. After I got the car started the 'check VSC' & 'check engine' lights went on :-( Left the car idle for a little while, came back and started it up and both the lights did not come on, phew!
Now i'm afraid of attempting the installation myself again. Can't figure out why installing the Vaistech unit would've killed my battery?

I used the 12 pin connector on the back of the radio. I think maybe my lights were on during the setup process I kept repeating. That probably drained the battery over time. Gonna try it again tomorrow
