Default Has anyone tinted their windshield?

I found out the hard way that using a metallic auto shade is a no no.

I was thinking tinting the windshield just a tad might help with sun damage. I'd be risking it in Cali but I have the light interior so that may help in terms of not looking so dark.

Pics please? What percentage did you use? Does it help much with heat? Any issues with police yet?

i did 50%.

This is the best pic i got.

at first it didn't help as much as i thought it would have, but after a while, like after a month or so. it helped greatly.

Tint the rest and use the AC. I wouldn't tint the front. Too risky and could cost more to take off!

I have Diamond Cut IR 73% on my front. It looks the same as the sides since I have it on all the windows. If you're in NorCal, it'd probably be easier to see it in person (although I have a dark interior).

I love the subtle diamond cut 73% also although I don't have it on my front.
It cuts the heat dramatically wherever it is applied.

integlspwr - Your car looks nice with that tint. Hope the fine wasn't too bad.

Brad - I like the way the front looks. You are lucky to be in an area where the cops pretty much leave you alone. But in Phoenix you NEED to have something that dark or else you would cook!

Jason - I'd love to see your car in person some day. Maybe PM me with where abouts you are? We might be close enough.

I have a real light tint on mine. I should have gone darker but with the Graphite I didn't want it to overpower the car itself.

I tinted the windows on my Truck and had the windshield done. It made a dramatic difference. The light coming in was cut down a lot, even though it was a very light tint because of the huge glass surface. The installer ended up taking it off right away because he wasn't pleased with his work. I never went back to have it done again.

No matter what happens, I will still cook. I left my office today for lunch and the temp on the dash said 116.

My front window is dark, but it looks a lot darker in pictures because of the Black on Black interior and all the other windows are so dark. I usually have my windows down at night so its not so bad.

I would just put a band on the top portion of it. Tinting the whole thing is kind of dangerous for night driving, IMO.

Llumar 80% uv tint. Cuts uv rays and glare and isn't noticeable.
