Colleen, it will mess with the clear coat no matter what. will it be 2 months or 10 years, the fact is it will still yellow, and will never look like paint (Glossy) . Yes i have seen Don and Harrys work. Was there today as a matter of fact.

Vinyl will never touch paint. "Nuff said " Im biased lol. If you ever get a chance take alook at edges and corners. We dont have that problem with paint.

You'd have to be retarded to think vinyl is better than paint. I dont think anyone here is saying vinyl is better than paint. No one is even saying they are equally good. We are just saying some of the things you said arnt exactly true about vinyl..

Yeah i DO disagree with certain things that you say about vinyl. I never disagreed that painted is better though. Look, im sure there is a difference. Im sure its shiny-ER. But vinyl doesnt look matte.

Mainly that vinyl looks matte. Unless put side to side and compared, there isnt much of a visual difference. When you put it side to side and compare it you can see that painted looks shiny-er (not to the point where it makes vinyl look matte) and that the edges arent as good. Thats all.

At Night the vinyl does look matte though. With out the sun it doesnt shine. Thats just what i have noticed.

^you can order film from aerotect or 3M. My friend actually wanted to do my roof last week, I believe he used a 5ft roll (in length) and maybe 5ft (in width) as well. Good luck, and yes if it DOES eat away the clear coat or yellows it you can always sand the surface off and have it clear coated again. But both paint and vinyl looks good, but of course I love vinyl because my friend owns a shop and I have a few pieces on my car =p
