If true, this is a waste of resources and should have been added three years ago.
Not sure about that one. Is this just speculation or are there actual reliable sources to back up this claim?

Sales people don't know what cars are allocated to their dealer ship more than 2 weeks out--how could they possibly know this??

By adding a bunch of useless weight to the car? Probably not.

RWD with good tires>AWD unless you're off-roading or have 500+ hp.

I disagree with the AWD option being one of the biggest shortcomings of the IS. As Kurtz stated, it will only add useless weight to the car. Simply compare the 0-60 and 1/4 mile times of the IS250RWD to the AWD to validate this.

IMHO, the biggest shortcoming that the IS350/IS-F had for car enthusiasts/auto magazine reviewers was the lack of a dedicated six-speed manual as an option. But to each their own...

6SPD manual would have been sweet on IS350.

Just got my car back from the dealership, after a loaner 250. Hated it, slow and not much power...

Well that's definitely not happening. The IS will most likely go through an overhaul when the 2012 model comes out as they're basically going through a 6 year model change process which is just about right as the IS still gets plenty of looks and draws decent attention but it's definitely beginning to age. I would say the 3IS is more likely to have AWD to compete more directly with the G35x/G37x and will possibly have a coupe as Lexus is definitely expanding their model line quite rapidly. I would say when the 2013 model comes out there will be an AWD model and when the 2014/2015 model comes, a couple. Just my speculation.

The funny thing is I was told too by a sale person that IS350 AWD was coming when I go to service last time so I clicked into this thread when I saw the title. And noticed you're also from Calgary lmao. No man it's just BS. Was it that chinese saleman who told you that? I couldn't hold my laugh when he told me the IS350AWD was coming.

The AWD is due to winter weather. Winner in Canada can get really bad.. a RWD with regular tire (all seasons) in not an option especially going up a hill that's not graved with snow or ice.

Yes I do. Not only did you not do the nitrous system the way it should've been you weren't running the right tires to get proper traction either. You weren't NEARLY at enough power to need AWD even with your nitrous shot, you just needed better tires.

I say that coming from a car that made quite a bit more power and torque NA than you did on the juice.

Right. That's why all-seasons suck. Use summer performance tires in the summer, and SNOW tires in the winter. Just like most folks have for the last 100 years without any problems in RWD cars. Even in Canada.

IS 350 AWD confirmed.. the Lexus in Calgary was telling the truth.

For 2011, the popular IS 350 luxury sport sedan line is adding a 306-horsepower all-wheel drive (AWD) model. IS enthusiasts will now have the traction and grip of all-wheel drive with the IS 350’s higher performance capability.
