Default After 4 years of ownership, something new started happening today(5 dings at unlock)

So whenever i unlock the car by touching the drivers side door handle, the car now beeps 5 times. Usually (the past 4 years) it only beeps 1 time. Now it beeps, flashes hazards, beeps, flashes hazards, beeps, flashes hazards, beeps, flashes hazards, beeps, flashes hazards. Any idea what that means? Nothing has changed as far as I know...

I took my car in for an oil change at the local dealership. Afterwords my car would beep 10 times every time I unlocked the door using the door handle. I called them and they had no idea why. They said to just bring it in and they would check. After unlocking the car a few times with the key fob it reverted to normal. Never did figure out why...

Yeah, that's interesting. I would guess that counting the beeps and/or flashes would be somewhat of a code thing. However many beeps will mean a certain problem the car is having??

try changing your key fob or the battery or both.

Mine would do that, but only when I didn't install my driver side window switches/door lock panel.

just got a call from the dealership, right rear door lock actuator is going bad and is not communicating with car. The door locks and unlocks ok, but it is not registering in the system. They're saying it'll be $550 to fix, $240 for the part and the rest for installation and programming. I asked if I could install myself but they said the part would need to be programmed....

anyone have any suggestions? Why would you need to program a door unlock switch?
