found 2 on my car today, one on top of another. Makes sense as there is a dealer I use when home in GA and another I use in FL near our corp office. Given the low cost of them, I'm surprised that Lexus isn't installing them in a more stealthy location from the factory. Would make it easy for them to track inventory movement and be proactive if they saw a car coming in X times over a short period. It's only a matter of time.

My touchless car wash has a similar tag. I'm a monthly member to the 24/7 touchless wash so you pull up with that sensor tag...it reads it and opens the door for the car wash. So, maybe it's a dealer car wash tag?

I realize this is an older thread, but the search function found it for me when I was looking to find out what this little piece of electrical tape with a printed circuit on one side is.
I have the same as what is pictured in the first post. I found it laying in the passenger floorboard. It has lost its stickiness.
I have a 2008 GX470 from Park Place in Plano(Dallas). My suspicion is that it is a dealer applied tracker to notify the service department as the vehicle enters the driveway so they can walk out and say, "How can we help you today, Mr. X?"
Since others have posted that they do not have the sticker, my thinking is that it is a dealer specific function designed to help them provide 'better' service. I put better in quotes because I can't say I've been getting 'better' service value from the dealer. Not when they want $700 to replace the faulty satellite radio receiver. Uh, thanks, but no thanks.

Just found one on my old car - it was falling off the top of the inside rear-view mirror..
It is a passive RFID tag used by dealers on their sites to track car inventory and cars in for service.
It says "Alien" on it because "Alien Technology" makes the stickers.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alien_Technology
"My Dealer Lot Automation" supplies the overall system.
