The dealership only charges me $35 dollars to do the change. I bring them 7qts of Mobil 1 synthetic so they don't charge me for the oil, just the labor and the filter. You shouldn't be cheap with oil changes on a Lexus.

Other than maybe your windshield wiper fluid there's nothing in the car that needs to be "topped off"

Lexus of Charleston charges $150 for an oil change.

I about fell over in disbelief.

I used them for the first free oil change only. When they did that oil change, they swapped my "Lexus of Palm Beach" license plate cover (where we bought for $4k less) with a "Lexus of Charleston" plate cover.

Now I do oil changes with filters from Sewell ($6 ea.) + $23.00 5qt jugs of Mobil 1 from Wal-mart.

If you're so generous then they should make you pay at least $400 for oil change lol

you guys are all suckers for paying the prices you pay. if you're paying more than $20 for a regular oil change, you're getting ripped off.

either do it yourself or go to a place that won't charge you an arm and a leg.

If you want a $20 oil change, go to ntb with their online coupon. Pepboys has a $20 oil change, but they charge $6 extra for the filter.

My Lexus dealer wanted $75 for a standard oil change. I asked Toyota next door and they couldn't understand why I wanted to bring my car to their dealership. After going around in circles, they wouldn't give me a price so I passed on that. Ended up at my local mechanic for $49. He claimed my oil was dirty. After all this hassle, I would have been better off with the $75 Lexus service- which is where I will go for the next one.

Lexus of Charleston told me $100/hr is the going rate so if he can do the full service oil change in 20 minutes with free parts and install coilovers with alignment in 2 hours I would be worried!

Yea and you shouldn't get ripped off either. Explain to me why an oil change for a Lexus is much more expensive than a Camry? Is there something so dramatically different between the two oil changes that makes the Lexus one so much more expensive? Please help me explain this one.

They have to pay for all the free Lexus perks somehow

(which around here includes the free food while waiting, the free loaners for any service of 2 hrs or more, all the big flat screens in the waiting areas, free valet parking at all the local malls, etc)

Do it yourself. They jacked you up. My oil change only cost $30 with Mobil 1 syn. $85 to pull out a bolt and put it back is crazy.

My dealer quoted me $100 for non-synthetic. I do it myself.
