First of all, why are you carrying a concealed handgun?
Secondly, why do you need to hide it in your car?

If the neighborhood you live in deems a handgun, maybe you shouldn't be rolling around in a lexus. It might draw the wrong crowds.

Don't make Texas look like the wild west. Just for everyone's information not everyone here's a pistol touting cowboy.

SpecLexus, what city doesn't really deem having something to protect yourself anymore in the world we live in? Or maybe we should all live in this dream world you live in where crime doesn't exist.

I have a concealed weapons permit for mine and my families protection. (Not to be some badass carrying a gun)

Lilbu- you don't need a safe, when i'm not in my car I lock my gun in the glove box. When I'm in the car, it rests underneath my seat.

I look at it this way- why DON't you carry a gun in your car? I have my SIG P228 in my glove compartment and a Glock 19 in a gun vault under my bed at home. I tried carrying a cop but he wouldn't fit Now my safe downstairs has all of the fun stuff

I have seen people bolt the gunvault in their trunk though- might want to try that as I don't think there is room under the seat.

No reason to ask why I choose to carry or not. Reason for a car safe is for when I go to places that do not allow handguns. Keeping it in a safe that can be concealed/hidden within the car is a lot more secure than the glovebox.

I've actually thought of keeping a handgun in my car around Houston, though. Before i moved here, i heard stories of car jackings happening just when you drive through the bad parts of town. Luckily, I never have to venture near those places, so i think the gun would be a little over dramatic now, safe non the less.

I've had a gun stolen out of my friends glove compartment so I don't trust them. My personal car has been broken into before also. Too many thieves around breaking into other peoples property.

Because were Americans and we have the right (in most states) to carry a concealed weapon if we've taken the proper classes. Ever heard of getting car jacked.....robbed.....assulted ect? I live in AZ and all the illegeal imagrants, drug dealers, coyotes ect are doing this crap all the time. Let one of them try and car jack me!

What's it to you if someone wants to exercise their rights and carry a handgun? The 2nd ammendment is in the constitution for a reason. The OP was asking about a safe for his car, not your opinion on his rights.

Glove compartment here, never thought about getting a safe. I feel safe enough with it in the glove compartment
