Default Can I use a GFX kit to hide this scratch?

I scratched up the lower right side of the rear bumper and went to a couple of shops to get quotes on fixing it. One shop said he'll just fix the damage area and respray clear coat only to that area and it'll blend in to the original paint and not see a seam. He quoted to fix it for $300. The other shop suggests taking the whole bumper off and respray one clear coat to the entire bumper so it'll be sure to not have a seam. I'm still waiting for a quote but I suspect it'll be much more expensive.

Here's a thought I have, since the scratch is so low can I just buy a GFX rear (and probably front to match) to cover the scratches? With the part and install cost it may actually be cheaper than the fix. So my question is to those who have the GFX kit installed, how high does it go on the right side of the bumper? I want to be sure it'll be high enough to cover the scratches. Here's a couple of pictures of the scratches to give you an idea, sorry pic quality not great from my phone camera. thanks.

If you buy the rear gfx kit, the bumper lip will hide that damage 100%. If you look at member's photos, the gfx kit sits a little under the reflectors.

yeah.... it will as extreme99 had said... i do think it's not a long term solution... unless the next buyer of the car does not look beyond the lips

The rear GFX lip should cover it no problem.

the kit would be a good solution. but i wouldnt get it until i know i couldnt get all the scratches off. your scratches dont appear to be deep, so a little elbow grease and some scratch doctor/ nu scratch should get most if not all of that out. i had something similar in my old ES, and it got it all off easily.

Thanks for your replies. Unfortunately the scratches are deeper than they appear in the photo, I can feel it just running my fingers across them. Loose gravel from a sloped driveway did it (when I was backing up) so I think the gravel took off the paint on the bumper. Anyhow, I'm going to try buffing the scratches first (since I own a PC polisher) and see if I can get the scratches mostly off with just polish. If not then I'll be thinking about either a repaint or GFX (since it's now confirmed that's an option). I don't plan on removing the GFX if I do sell the car since I'll need to replace the bumper if I do as it'll be cut to install the GFX. I'm hoping the polish will get most if not all the scratches out.

Is this even through the paint?

It just looks like a scuff / paint transfer that can be removed with a compound and polish. Take it to a local detailer to see what can be done first..

I looks like it's through the paint but I could be wrong, and hope so. I'm going to try to polish it out this weekend. Hopefully it'll be mostly gone and the rest I can just touch up. But at least I know one option in the end is to get a GFX.
