My steering wheel on the 07 I had pealed/cracked in a small section and they replaced the stering wheel under warranty. Oh but u did it so I'm not sure they will fix for free. Honetly u will probably forget about it.. I forgot about the imperfection untill I went in for service one time...

Just look at the bright side...
My IS is a 2009.......I cleaned-up/repaired most of the unpreventable accidents already.
I had...
1. rock chips on hood, bumper, roof
2. door panel scratched by bike handle
3. my 7 yr. old daughter spilled drinks/food, left pen marks, put her old bubble gum inside the magazine holder, left her muddy softball shoes on top of the seat, and the icing on the cake, she decides to leave her hand print/full of chalk (she thought it was cool to see) on the headliner.
4. And I have to admit, I spilled coffee on the front seat already.
But it's all good...it's only a car, a car I bought to be driven daily and not taken to car shows.
EDIT: I had most of the clean up done by Phil at ADS Mobile. He is located in San Bruno, CA. He does wonders with detailing. He also has a show car IS300 wide body.

have you looked into trying magic mender. I heard it works well at repairing leather scratches/tears. I want to try it but its kinda expensive. Would like to know if anybody has had any success with it?

i used to constantly scratch my nails on our previous lexus rides. my nails werent long; the wheel just easily scratches. even since i bought mine, ive had the steering wheel cover for protection just in case. it gives it a nice feel- a bit thicker and goes well with the car itself. works well, protects the wheel, and its not as hot when you're parked outside for awhile and try to grab the wheel for the first time to drive somewhere.
