Question New tips on factory mufflers

Has anyone just put some nice angle cut exhaust tips on their factory mufflers? I am picking up my IS350 next week and would just like to get rid of those ovals for something like the magnaflow angle cut tips like they have on their cat back system. Is there any reason this can't be done or is impractical? Thanks!!

Impractical? Sure because it's just for looks. I'm still debating on getting exhaust or just tips because I like my car quiet.

Here are two threads that members have tips installed:

Maybe the GFX tips? They are pretty cheap in the classifieds section. Not sure how they look w/o the rear GFX though.

^ I agree, a set of GFX tips might be what you're looking for. Simple and easy to install.

GFX tips seem to hang too low and a little small for my liking. Has anyone tried to tuck them up higher in the body?

I really like the look of these (I think they are like a magnaflow 35121, but can't tell from the post)

and these magnaflow 35177's would be great EXCEPT that I wish you didn't see the tip neck down in size to meet the muffler.

I put the factory GFX kit on and it came with the GFX tips but I wasn't feeling them so I had these tips put on my stock mufflers. Simple, very OEM looking. Not sure if this is the particular styling you're looking for. I'm not sure what "cut tip" means.

"Angle cut" just means that the tip isn't cut perpendicular to the axis of the tube; it's slanted at an angle. Yours are straight cut, which seems to work perfect for the GFX kit, but doesn't seem to jive with the factory body to me. Thanks Chekmi!

Ahhh thanks for the clarification. It helped seeing the tips on the white car. hahahaha that post and mine were happening at the same time so I didn't see it when I was writing my post. Makes sense.

magnaflow 35121 are good if you have no rear lip
but if you do, the S2000 tips are great IMO...
