I'm not to fond of the G25. Sure it lowers the entry price to get into an infiniti, but it should get better fuel economy than it does imo. For comparisons sake:

Infiniti G25.....................20/29
Lexus IS250 (RWD/Auto)...21/30

Infiniti G37.....................19/27
Lexus IS350 (RWD/Auto)...20/27

I've owned many fast cars. Sold one to buy a BMW 335i Sedan.Loved the car, but it was only a temp car (7 months) till I was ready to buy a 2011. I bought my 2011 is350 March 31st. I just wanted a nice Daily driver for now. I have a few mods done already, but not looking for another 9 sec street car right now. Maybe in two years I will buy another toy, but for now, like being debt free.
I will be upgrading to an LFA soon.

What a thread bump.. and what an interesting thread. Which I just read all the way through..

Looks like the original poster was correct, within the criteria set forth (sedan, 6-cylinder, naturally aspirated), the IS350 really is the fastest. No one thus far's been able to provide an example to dispute it.

I knew it was quick, but hadn't looked at it from this perspective. Makes me even more proud of my car.

Also on the mather of the M3. I raced one up to 150 mph on my 06 (300hp version) 350z. We were equal until about 90. then he just started pulling on me. I have heard that they can hit the limiter with a gear to spare and that they are monsters at high speed.

Has anyone here raced one at high speeds?? IMO the IS "feels" slower then my 350z did at speeds over 100mph
My friend has an 08 or 09 G37S sedan, and we've raced more than a few times. Around 90 mph, I was ahead a couple car lengths, consistently. He has the six speed.

I'm going to line my IS 350 up against my friends G37X soon. He has an air intake of some kind. I should be able to pull on him from a dig because of the weight difference. HP is one thing but the real ratio is HP to weight, and traction of course!

Umm ok? The OP said 6cylinder non turbo sedans. The 135i is a coupe and turbo, the 335i is a turbo sedan/coupe and even then puts up similar numbers to a 350 in stock form.

IS350 beats the V6 Panamera...if we're still comparing N/A V6 sedans.

I will say this for the 1116th time, humans can never shift as fast as automatic transmission. And to have IS350 a manual the gearing would also have to be changed. The current gearing for the IS350 is way too short for a manual. It requires 3 gears to get past 60. Even if Lexus revises the gearing for the manual tranny the chances are you will get worse acceleration than the auto. What IS350 needs is a SMG or lightning quick Sport Shift system like the one found in the IS-F. Now that would have been alright. Lexus may have decided to stick with the auto also to increase fuel economy. Manual tranny with short gears will lead to worse fuel economy.

.
There is a loss of efficiency in an auto(torque converter) though vs. a manual

In WHP and fuel mileage

something that many of us leave out is the AGGRESIVE gearing found on the IS350.. it can almost be rewarded for most of our "hairline" wins... yes our HP makes the most difference but gearing definitely helps...

In MEXICO I raced a 2005 g35 coupe with intake exhaust and pulleys (according to driver)

2nd gear 40mph roll ... neck to neck till his gear ran out and I was still pulling...
3rd gear 60mph... not the best for the is350 but still pulled on him due to the fact that my third pulled much longer than his..

Not gonna happen my friend,

I beat up 2 135i's out at the road track (Chuckwalla) as for 335's i haven't run against any but have beat up 2 M3's e92's. I had tires on & they didn't doesn't matter if you have more HP if you can get it to the ground what good is it. I got every bit to the ground & they just slid of the track tryn to keep up.

Sorry i had Hoosier R6's on & regardless of tire the 135 never out pulled me, the M3's did pull but not by much.
