Default How is the IS350 so fast??

So I am sorry, but I am am complete newbie to Lexus....

I am car shopping this week and am in the market for my first Luxury car, trying to decide between BMW 325i, Lexus IS250, and maybe the Lexus IS350
I drove the Is250 AWD and it was very nice smooth, little slower than the BMW but the interior was MUCH nicer, wow you guys have great looking interiors!!

Now my question here, I am looking at new, but I may consider an 08' or 09' used IS350!

I drove a IS350 and WOW, that car is so fast!! I dont get it?? It has a 3.5L V6 and no turbos no superchargers?? I mean I drove many other V6 3.5L cars in the past and I didnt expect this!!

I tried doing some research but no reports show me HOW its possible to get so much power out of a normally aspired engine??? Just doesnt make sense??

So I am really wanting this 350 now! Any input??

It sucks, I live in IL, and its very hard to find a used IS350, seems like 10 to 1 ratio of IS250's to 350's...

The 350's engine makes more torque than most 3.5 L engines through a combination of port and direct fuel injection. It is a great engine and is just one of the reasons I have an IS 350.

Direct injection, high compression, variable valve timing, etc. contribute to high horsepower.

There are a few around the area, not many! 08'-09 IS350's maybe less than 20 for sale, IS250? around 250 for sale!

Also this may help!

You can put up a WTB ad in the Chicago forum and see if anyone bites. We have a good amount of 350 owners in the Chicago area on CL.
