Will those wheels fit? START HERE.

Want to know if your wheels will fit? Will it rub? What's the best offset? What sizes and widths should I buy? Start here.

This thread is the result of merging over 100 threads on the same topic - will these wheels fit on my IS? Feel free to ask any questions you may have on whether your specific wheels will fit on the 2IS, but please search this thread first - as you can see, there's plenty of information here already. ;)

EDIT: For those of you searching or IS250 AWD fitment information, this thread should yield some great information.

rim question (offset)

im intrested in getting some g-games barracuda rims for my IS, it currently dropped on eibachs and have 19"s, my question is can i run a 10.5 out back with a 40mm or 32mm offset? I have 19x9.5 now with a 32mm offset and it looks like i could go another inch........

anyone with in knowlege in this area?

kilo6_one 10-16-06 09:12 PM

pics? i'm currious to what a 32mm offset looks with a 9.5 wheel.
Most people say to run 40mm, but i think that's really high.

I have Barracuda with 40mm offset with 9.5 on the rear. I think 32mm will be kind of pushing the envelope. I might be wrong though. I also have Tein CS with about one finger gap all around. Here are a couple of pics for reference.

Thanks man. As far as the front rims are concerned, they don't tuck in much at all. They are very close to being flushed with the fenders. If you're in So.Cal area, you're more than welcome to check it out in person before you make up your mind. :)

Question On Offset For Front

Will a 19X9 with offset 40 or 43 fit on an IS350?

al503 10-18-06 01:28 PM

I would definitely say no on the +43. You're going to be touching or too close to the spindle.

On the +40, you may clear the spindle but it would be too close for comfort IMO. With a +40 and an 8.5" wheel, I have ~3/8" clearance between the wheel lip and the spindle. With an 9" wheel at +40, you'll be 1/4" closer to that spindle leaving ~1/8" of clearance. In addition, you won't be able to put on the 'correct' width tires as they will be wider than the wheel itself.

Def 19x8 or 8.5 in front. It will not look good or proportional with 19x9s unless it is a true race setup.

Non OEM rims

I want to purchase 17" non-OEM rims for winter on my IS350 (currently with 18"). What specs do I have to make sure these other 17" rims have to make sure they fit over the brakes?

I'm ready to buy tires and rims, but don't want to make a mistake and purchase something that won't work.

TIA
