I'll start by admitting I don't know the answer for sure, but I can offer some thoughts and suggestions:

1. My biggest gripe with this platform is that I want to go to a square setup for both tire and wheel, and I don't feel like I can get as much tire under the front end (as far as width goes) as I would like to.
2. What tires are you looking at using? If you try and shoehorn a "wide" 255 ultra high performance tire under the front end you may have issues.
3. If you choose a "wide" ultra high performance 245 tire all the way around that may help you fit better, and with an ultra sticky street tire you will end up with better performance than a less sticky "narrow" 255 series tire.
4. Have you thought about what kind of camber you want to run? Running 2-2.5 degrees of negative camber in the front will not only get you better performance, it may also give you just enough clearance to get the tires in without rubbing.

Let us know what you decide and how it works out, I've got until next spring to decide what I am going to run for a summer setup.

Thanks for the advice

I'm looking into Tc105n 18x9 +35 on pss
255/35/18 is closest to stock rolling diameter I can get in the more beefy form. Would be good for street too since Toronto roads r so ****ty

I want to get away from the all show no go scene and take my "250 awd" to the track and auto x which is why I have a lot of suspension mods waiting as well as the lightweight wheels with beefy pss tires

I can roll with my current setup on road magnet for sure no rub, but once the new wheel setup is swapped I'm afraid of problems when turning..or even going over dips

Not sure if I want to go that much neg camber with such beefy tires tho

Car: 2006 Is350
Suspension: stock struts on Tien S-tech
Wheels in question: 18x8.5 Front +35 18x9.5 rear +40 ~ CCW classic reps eBay special
Tire size: Goodyear eagle GT 225/40/18 Front - 225/40/18 Rear
Fender mod: rears rolled flat,no work up front

My question is the seller offers a lower offset,I believe a +20 something. My main goal is to get away from spacers but still have something nice. I already have the tires in 18's and they are easy for me to get locally. If I go with a lower offset will it help me stear clear of those pesky spacers?Main goal is to run wheels with out spacers!

Yes, lower offset = wheel will be flush with the fender. If you do 18x9.5 +20 for the rear you will be pretty much flush and may require some minor rolling. I have 18x8.5 +35 fronts right now and can probably go another 10mm and still be safe (Also lowered on s techs).

The only comment is do you want to run the same tire size (225/40) on both the 8.5 and 9.5? Your 8.5 will have a very minor stretch, whereas it will be much more noticeable on the 9.5. Best bet is to run 255 on the 9.5 if you want to keep the look consistent. Plus a 255 from the rear looks a lot more aggressive than 225. Good luck!

In the rear, I'd personally go with 265/35, so you almost got it right, but even with that, those are really aggressive specs in the rear. For that, you'd need a roll and pull and relocate fender tabs. It could work but it'll take some time and hacking at the fenders.
Thanks for the input, well i didn't really have to do anything to my fenders thanks to the camber kits. but here is the finished product. I think my next set will be more aggressive especially in the front. lol.

Yes They will FIT. You will just have a greater offset in the Rear. But theres nothing wrong with having AWD wheels on an RWD car. But the opposite way (in my situation) theres a big issue due to it messing with the Rear Diff.....

I have a 250 AWD, lowered on H&R springs, ~1.5" all around.

Looking to run 19x8.5 +35 and 19x9.5 +35.

Will these wheels sit pretty flush?
Will I need fender mod'ing?
What size tires are recommended?

Thanks!

V

Exactly the same spec of what I had.

My tires are 235/35/19 Front and 255/35/19 Rear
If you lower around 1.5 inches, you will be fine with very very slight rubbing on the front fender liners. I heat-gunned the liner and the rubbing was almost gone. After the heat gun, only on extreme bumps and very fast and sharp cornering that I would get minor rubbing. This set up is highly recommended.

Default Looking for new wheels, close to stock, no or minimal modification

Hi,

I have a '09 IS 250 AWD. Did some searching here and decided I would like to have a squared, non staggered setup.

So far, my first choice are these Avant Garde Wheels M310:

http://avantgardewheels.com/m310.php

My question is, what size should I get for all 4 identical wheels if I want to keep it close to stock as possible? I'd like to keep it close to stock so that I don't have to deal with any further mod or without affecting other aspects, such as speedometer, turn radius, etc. There is no other mods to the car besides a F Sport Intake.

Thanks!

Perfect! I'll grab a set for next winter, since I'm on 16s and it looks weird on the car for a winter setup.
