Yes 245/40/18 will fit on the rear rims. Just put some on my rears for the same reason. Fit great.
Looking at winter tires for my IS 350 stock rims (18 x 8 front / 18 x 8.5 rear), looking to keep the OEM tire spec for the front tires at 225/40/18, will the rear tires at 245/40/18 fit (instead of 255/40/18 OEM)?
Basically the tires I'm looking at is available at 245/40/18 but not 255/40/18...

Tires ordered 235/35/19F. 265/30/19R. Will I rub?
Should I go 225/35/19F ?
Thank you

Trying to rebarrel my Work VS-XX in the rear wheels. Right now it's 19x8.5 with 32 offset. I lowered to where the top of the tire is even with the fender when looking straight from the side. No finger gap. Looking to go to 19x10.5 or 11 with 295/30/19 tires and 32 offset. Will it clear on the inside or will it hit my coils or suspension parts?

What are the specs that I need to have in order to fit LFA replica wheels on a 2010 IS250 RWD?
I found wheels with this spec, but I'm not sure if they will fit:
18 x 8
+38 offset
60.1 Center bore
5 x 114.3
Thanks!

so, i finally pulled a front wheel off today that just wouldn't hold air any longer and didn't' see anything in the tire…figured it was a mild bend i could detect on the outside. turns out that the lip on the inner side has a good ~1" long crack on it.
'07 IS 350 sport package (~0.4" front drop?) currently running:
19x8 +40 235/35 w/10mm spacers
19x9.5 +40 275/30
i love my fitment in the back but would like to bring the front out another 5mm ideally (switch to a 15mm spacer essentially). however, I'm just being picky there and wouldn't ever bother changing the spacers. however, my other front rim is curbed, so i was considering on using this opportunity to get the different offsets on the front to get rid of the spacers completely (incorrectly thinking +25 was the other option). however, it's +20 or +40…and no 8.5" or 9" width available.
is a 19x8 +20 too much for the front? i want the tire to line up with the fender without protruding past it AT ALL (better to be slightly in than out). for a reference, i would not like the rear if it came out even another 5 mm, and i know others consider a flush setup in the rear much more aggressive than my current 9.5" wide +40 mm. of course, i'm not lowered in the back and have little camber to help. it's obviously a little different story in the front with a bit more camber, so i generaly look to the center of the rim to examine flushness there.
when i put the stockers back on later this week i will do a quick experiment with the remaining 19x8 +40 rim and double up my 10 mm spacers. however, i won't really be able to accurately access any rubbing of any sort with that…not with any conclusiveness at least.
i'd really appreciate any insight the wheel experts have for me!
