Dont' know, I'm not a fan of tire stretching, it is not good for the tire. 255's maximum wheel spec from the manufacuter is 10" so 10.5" is already stretching.
----------------

xna,

Not sure if you got my message. I'm now thinking of going 19x8.0 front and 19x9.0 using work wheels using Lexus's offsets of 40mm. Would this still be ok?

I happen to see a worker's IS with work wheels suing the 19x8.6 and 19x9.5 wheel and the appeal of the lip sticking out futher than the tire did not seem to suit my taste.

255 on a 10.5"-wide wheel is barely starting to stretch the tire. now 245? that's a different story.

btw, i'm sorry i wasn't able to respond to your PM earlier, but i'm glad you caught my attention. i wasn't sure what your PM meant, so your post clarifies things.

you can use 19x8/19x9 +40, but make sure your proposed specs clear the brake calipers. it's best to refer to work wheels' sizing chart to determine that.

if you're going w/ 19x8/19x9 +40 set-up and you want the widest tires possible, try 235/35-19 + 275/30-19 for the ultimate beefy tire set-up.

depends on the width of the wheels and your desired tire set-up (stretched vs. meaty).

it would help if you posted the wheels' offsets (which you didn't), but i already know you're talking about starknight's TE-37's that are in the wheels/tires classified section.

just run the same sizes he ran, since he had no problems running those tire sizes. if all else fails, go a size narrower.

Hey guys quick question. I have a 2" drop w/ H&R springs. I bought the car with 19" MRR w/ 255/35/19 tires. I just bought some 18" w/ 245/45/18 Winter tires. I had no rubbing problems with the 19's but I was wondering if you guys knew if the 245/45/18 tires on the 18" wheels would have rubbing problems anybody run in to that?

due to the lack of specific details that would actually help answer your question (wheel width/offset), i'm just going to give you a generic answer.

maybe.
