yep...i want that too!! llama has 10 inch with at the back with 35 offset, and i want to go for 8.5 inch with 20 offset at the back...llama do you have any fender work to that setup of yours?? your setup is just awesomely perfect...haha

i would go with the 45 offset... aren't they 1 piece wheels? it's not going to affect the lip at all... so you might as well go with something that's right for your car... if it then doesn't meet your needs once you get it you could always add spacers to have it fit perfect as you want it. rather than going the other way around.. buying the wheel and not being able to return it then be stuck with wheels made to fit a 350..............Nissan 350z that is

i think you're confused about how width affects offset and how they interact with each other. it's hard to explain, but a 8" wide wheel with 20 offset will actually be more flush than a 9" wide wheel with a 45 offset.
now, a 8" 20 offset will sit 1" further in than a 9" 20 offset. a 10" wide with 20 offset will be another inch out past the 9" wide wheel. so offset numbers remain the same, but because width changes, so does the wheel fitment.
25.4mm =1 inch.
so take an 8" wheel, at 25mm offset, and compare to a 9" wheel at 25mm offset. as we now know, the 9" wheel sticks out 1" further. so if youwnated something that would have the same fitment as the front but was a wider wheel, say 10" for the rear, you would ask for a 10" wide wheel with approx 37mm offset, (25mm + 1/2" which is 12.5mm).
if you wanted teh rear to fit a bit closer to the fender than the front, you would ask for a 10" wide wheel with 12.5mm offset, which would put it about 1/2" closer.
note: these specs are not for your car, just for general explanation purposes.

so 8" 20 offset will stick inch further out that 9" 20 offset?? But 9" 25 offset sticks 1 inch further than 8" 25 offset?? so the ultimate question is will 8.5" 20 offset fit the IS350 rear?? Should I just go with all-round 45 offset and get spacers for rear or is there anyway I can make my rear wider??

350nub, what wheel exactly from their website are you interested in? Tell us the wheel, we can go to the website, they have a offset chart, and we can help you.

A 20 offset 8.5 is not the correct wheel for the rear of your IS.

looking at tenzo type M wheel....they dun have the chart at their website yet...just some pics...but i called them and they told me they have only 19X8.5 offser 20 and 45...and 19X10 offset 20....so how should i do this setup? I was thinking 19X8.5 offset 45 all round but isnt that too narrow for the rear? (not flish enuf)

Do you want me to order your wheels for you???? The 20 offset in the rear is not going to work.... So if you are still dead set on these particular wheels you have to get the 19x8.5 +45 all around, Just run a set of spacers in the rear with maybe a set of wider tires. Spacers will make it look like its a Staggerd set up and you will have staggerd tires too.

based on 19psi's explanation it does work. 25.4mm=1inch

if a 9.5 wheel correct offset is at 45 and fits fine with room to spare then

an 8.5 wheel to match the 9.5 wheel... needs to add 25.4mm

let's round off and say 25. so we're looking at 20mm offset for a 8.5 wheel

so if you wanted to go down to a 8.5 wheel based on the number's it should work...

and the only benefit that i see you doing this is because i've heard somewhere if you use spacers it's dangerous to have them above 15mm because there's something that could happen where the lugnuts can potentially unscrew themselves.

that is only if you have the cheap spacers where it's basically a metal ring that sticks out 15mm

thanks batmobile...i think ur the only one that agrees with me so far...thats what i thought when having only 8.5 width with 20 offset...inch=25mm? with most people going for 45 offset at the rear wouldnt that be equal?? anybody else can chime on this issue??? 20 offset would really look goodddddd..btw this offset is usually for 350Z FRONT offset...

i wish i knew your car better i could ttell you what will actually fit. i can fit a 10" rear wheel with +24 offset with some rolling. i doh't think you'll be able to just bolt on some 10s without some rolling with a 20 offset.
i think your best bet with the wheels you want is a 8.5 rear with a 20 offset. it won't be as wide, but it will LOOK as wide due to the offset. you can still run a wider tire in the back. however, i dont know what you would need with the front. i'm sure somoene more experienced with the new IS can help. i just don't want to see youstuck with some weak fitting sunken wheels.

thanks for the reply. Yes the only way is 8.5 width with 20 offset. Any1 else can do a final confirmation?? also wad tires should i go with to make it perfect at the back and front??
