im not sure how offsets work...but i did get mine thru tire rack. i would call them or another tire place and see what they suggest and im sure they will be of help. i have 17" that replaced my 18" summer rims and tires that came on the car.

i would ask JavyLSU (username) if he is on line. im sure he can be of much help to you.

I had stock 17's

front 225/45/17 17x8 +45
rear 245/45/17 17x8 +45

I downsized to
front 225/50/16 16x7.5 +38
rear 225/55/16 16x7.5 +38

use http://www.1010tires.com/WheelOffsetCalculator.asp to calculate the offset your rims will have to be... I say be as close to stock as you can.

Default Rim Fitment Question!

Hi I was wondering if the following rims would fit on my is350. I have the Eibach springs and the stock Dunlap's. I don't want any rubbing issues at all.
The first option are this size.
pattern : 5 x 114.3

Size : 18 x 8(front) & 18 x 9(rear)

Offset : 38mm(front) & 38mm(rear)

Lip size : 2.5" (front) & 3" (rear)

The Second would be the same except an 18x5 35mm offset front and an 18x9.5 rear with a 35mm offset. Thanks so much for any help!

Default wheel offset question...

Just look over at Tenzo's website...and saw the new 2008 line ups....

Will 19X8.5 Offset 45 for Front, and 19X8.5 Offset 20 Rear works??

from what i recall from other threads 24 is the lowest you should go in the front having 215 for tires and 27 is the lowest you should go in the back having 235 or 245 for tires.

if you go any lower you would look like this which doesn't look too good in my opinion... but with fender mods i'm sure you could make it work

offsets are 20's in the front and 22's in the rear... rims are 20x8.5 in front and 20x10 in the rear... hope this helps

(I didn't want to mess with this guys sale but it was the best example i could find)

you can clearly see that its sticking a good inch or two out from the fender line from the way the light is hitting it

thanks batmobile!!! But if went with 19X8.5 offset 45...wouldnt that be too narrow?? Will the offset 20 be replacing/equivalent the width of 19X9.5 or 19x10 , with offsets 35-40 that most people are going for? BTW this question is only for the Rear's...thanks again for helping a nub out!!

I am not really sure because of the confusing 20 offset or 45 offset of which i should choose soon!! maybe you can give me some thoughts on this?? which offsets and what tire size?? i am hoping for the 20 offset as the 45 offset are just NOT flush enough to the fenders...especially on width 8.5 at the rear! ......the front i got it clear...(doing it 235/35/19)... just need help on the rears....
