Would running fuel system cleaners such as Techron help eliminate/prevent the carbon build up?
i only use chevron gas (since day 1), it has techron already in it... if you dont have a chevron near you, normally any teir1 gas company will be fine.

I have to apologize for not inputting any more information on my first post, it's been a hectic beginning of the year for me. I have had a chance to speak to a few trusted Lexus master techs that I'm friends with, and from their encounters they do log many IS250's with a lot of carbon build up, and exhaust valve replacements. Witch do not make anything any better, they basically fail to fix any problem. As I attain more information from them on this particular issue I will add it to my list of things to add to my first post. I'm terribly sorry on timing but soon I'll have some info to digest.
One last thing to add, this issue does not exist on IS350's or IS-F's due to their combo of DI / Port. So WOT for IS250's can help but there's more to fixing this problem, then letting it eventually cost you large amounts of money to fix.
new carbon buildup resolution at Lexus dealerships
i took my is250 in two days ago again for my complaint about rough idle and occasional studder and shake while at a stoplight. explained to them that it seemed like it was about to stall once in awhile. it has happened 6 times since in the last 20k miles. i am now at 45k so i thought it was a bit early to be having this already. i always use premium gas and the good stuff.
strange thing is the car has never thrown any codes and no lights ever come on on the dash during this. i was told that this is a new known issue with this engine and that lexus has a new machine to take care of this. no longer are they only cleaning the throttle body with a spray cleaner. it is now an induction service with an induction kit. i was told it will happen again in time as carbon builds over time and it will need it again then.
the car idles smooth now and it's no longer as sluggish. we will see if the studder is gone in time, but the head tech is sure it will be.
