PHEW. About an hour ago I was heading back home from Oakland, exiting 580 over to 238 I got off the ramp pretty fast and sped onto Foothill Blvd going 60mph. Didn't pay much attention, as I was tempting to run the yellow I stopped realizing 2 patrol units have creep up behind me. I sat in my seat thinking "Oh, looks like I'm getting pulled over...." Cop flashes his lights and shines both of this side lamps on me, I pulled over after the intersection....


Officer: Young lady, do you know why we stopped you?
Me: I was speeding......
Officer: Good answer, can I see your license? Don't pull out any guns now.
*Hands him my license, weird that he did not ask me for registration or insurance?
Officer: Step out of your car please.
Officer: Are you in school? How old are you?
Me: Yes, 20.
Officer: Okay, drive safe and don't speed next time, get back in your 2010 Lexus and drive slowly. A nice car like that can get an innocent girl in trouble.
Me: Oh thanks officer, I'm sorry for speeding, just trying to get home.
Officer: Have a goodnight.


I was more than scared, I'm so relieved right now. He did not issue me any kind of ticket. The other cop in the second unit pointed out that my car was low and had tints, but didn't bother citing me a fix it ticket. This is by far the luckiest anyone can get, I'm just so thankful I didn't get a ticket

Has anyone else ran into nice cops out there?

But I've been let go once for 'california stopping' a stop sign. Told me to full stop next time. So i guess i'm pretty hot myself.

Actually if it's police they're usually cool, if it's CHP I usually count my blessings that I'm not bent over crying at the end. The benefits of owning a nice car?

Most of the people police deal with lie to them. Owning up to what you did can go long way.

i got pulled over once in newport, he gave me a ticket for speeding but didnt believe my radar detector detects ladars so he bet me the ticket haha...guess who won, ended up driving away with a warning

haha you know he just did that because he was flirting with you but must be nice to be a girl and be able to get away with that. I usually get away with speeding and have several times but i might have been able to use you when i got pulled over going 104

It's what I do...I've been a cop in Florida 21 years and I issue way more warnings than I write tickets. Alot has to do with a person's attitude. Glad to hear it worked out for you.

You are lucky but sometimes cop make an excuse to pull you over and have you admit you were doing something illegal.

Well the cop that pulled me over was Hayward police, then a CHP pulled up behind him.....I think they were hiding underneath the overpass.



I was pretty honest when he asked me, I had set the orange ring on my speedometer to 70mph, and the light had just went off seconds before they pulled me over. Very lucky lastnight, would be rare to run into another nice cop.

Damn, you're lucky. I got caught speeding twice within 2 weeks (the second time a single cop pulled 3 of us over - so much for safety in numbers), and now I keep my cruising speed around 75-80.

I'm a handsome guy....but that didnt stop the cop from giving me a ticket doing 88mph the last time I got stopped. I will admit though I have been stopped a few times and gotten away with warnings. Attitude plays a large part in it. Dont BS, show respect and you're alot more likely to get a warning.
