Default GFX Rear + your exhaust..........pics, opinions?

Hey guys, well I am about to order my full GFX kit. However I am looking for an exhaust to compliment it. (tips arent too big and they rub, tips too short and sit way inside of the rear lip, etc...)

Also, I am looking for a quiet catback with some nice tips. a little tone would be nice, but no drone.

I am open to opinions. I have been searching for a while now. I like the HKS one, it sounds nice, but im not sure how it will look with the GFX rear.

Or if anyone has any pics of their cars with the GFX rear and an aftermarket exhaust.

Thanks guys!

the gfx rear comes with 2 exhaust tips for your stock exhaust so that your exhaust will even out with the lower rear.

if u want a quiet exhaust with little to no drone, i'd recommend the tanabe medalion touring exhaust. It sounds deeper and is very quiet. I have this one and love it.

if u want a louder exhaust you can go with the hks you mentioned. This exhaust is bigger than the tanabe and sounds more aggressive. it has some droning though.

Hope this helps with your decision. GL

Tanabe is quiet, and dont worry about any 'drone' its an aftermarket exhaust afterall so OF COURSE it'll be louder *never understood ppl complaining about 'drone' with a aftermarket exhaust *... in loudness the Tanabe is one step up in loudness *from stock* while the fsport is like 5steps up (think borla loudness).

Or if u don't want drone and u wana fill out the exhaust gaps
Get the

S2000 tips for ur stock exhaust and buy a invidia mid pipe , cheap and looks good with sone sound

Very minimal drone

Tanabe is the quiestest exhaust axle back for our cars but you WILL have drone

great and all, but the OP did use the magic word "quiet".

the HKS is nowhere near that, and the F-Sport is more close-but-not-quite.

to the OP: greddy SE and tanabe touring medallion are your best bet. do note that they're axleback systems.

I highly recommend Lexus HKS which is similar to F-sport but not as loud. It's discontinued but you might find a used one pop up on market place. Tanabe is good second choice but I find Tanabe way too loud during certain RPM.

You guys Fing ROCK!

THank you for all of the opinions. So the HKS is louder than the Tanabe? How does the Tanabe look with the GFX? Also I didnt realize the rear came with the tips as well.

When I said quiet, I meant a little sound, but nothing retarded, LOL. It would be nice to sound throaty, but not weed eater. LOL

That pic of both of the asses of those IS350s are SEX. Anyone have anymore of theirs with the GFX lip and aftermarket exhaust?

I am going to google some sound sound clips of the Tanabe and HKS axle backs. So, the F sport is loud huh?

I think you missunderstood ppl
Let me clarify things for you

From LOUDEST to quietest
HKS HI POWER.
Fsport
Greddy
Tanabe
Lexus hks (discontinued)

There are other exhausts out there but I'm only listing the ones mentioned

If u want quiet I wouldn't get hks because it is probably the loudest exhaust made for our whips

U should look into tanabe or greddy , keep in mind tho both have drone

i really dont think the lexus hks is even worth talking about, its discontinued and even when it was offered it wasnt popular anywayz... also i think fsport is the same as HKS hiPower and Borla in loudness.

n stop talking about 'drone'... its a aftermarket exhaust its not really a drone, because its louder than stock the db at 2k rpm OF COURSE will be higher, i've only heard of 'drone' here on the lexus board its like ppl have never modded their cars before and for the first time heard this 'drone', you never hear of a drone on more ricer orientated forums... AND if you dont like the louder sound, thats what the volume button on the radio is for

and i hear no drone from my greddy SP2's, i LIKE the sound of my exhaust and would like to hear it MORE... i guess 'drone' is subjective.

Which HKS are you referring? There are two types, Lexus HKS is the one replaced by F-sport, mostly dealers only carry this, or HKS Hi-power which is pretty loud exhaust.
Lexus HKS is very throaty, almost sounds like G35 exhaust.
