Default Battery died today and have questions

So I went to my car tonight and noticed that my car's flasher's were on faintly as were my alarm horn faintly on. So i check to see if i've left my lights on or something and found out that my battery was dead. So i pop open the door lock thing to open my door and the flashing and the alarm stopped after i unlocked the door with the key. My question is; is it normal for the alarm and lights to be on when the power is almost out? Or is it possible that someone attempted to steal my car and the alarm drained the battery? I checked my car and nothing's missing but could that be a possibility? Thanks in advance to anyone who can help me answer these questions!

It's possible for the battery to get drained from the alarm because of the headlights being on.

Alarm will not go off unless the car was opened from inside.

So the alarm would go off if the headlights are on? Or maybe I didn't turn the car off all the way? but I still don't understand why the alarm would go off

No. When the alarm is going off. It turns the headlight On then Off then On then off..again and until you unlock it.

You could of held the panic button with the key fob?

One reason the alarm might have gone off is that you accidentally pressed the panic button on the key fob. (Much as you might come out to find your windows rolled down, or your trunk unlocked -- due to buttons being inadvertently pressed by other items in your pocket or purse).

We had our battery die two times in two weeks after I turned over my car to my wife. I never had a problem with it in the two years I drove it. We tried to figure out what she might be doing wrong to cause it. Dealer tested battery and charging system and said everything was OK. Here's what we think she was doing . . .

We think she was turning off the car while it was still in drive. If you turn off your car while it's still in drive, the ignition will stay on. You can get out and try to lock it (won't lock). Since the doors were all unlocked both times it died, this was consistent with the suspected cause. I don't know if this might be your issue or not. But, since pointing this out to her, it hasn't happened again and it's been several months.
