IS Rim - paint bubbling - need paint code
A number of people have posts commenting on paint bubbling on their rims. It's now getting pretty noticeable on my rims so I want to try to repair it myself. However, I can't find any information on the paint code.
Anyone attempt this and have the correct paint code and know where to get the paint?

yes, i've seen this to. My original rims are bubbling and i have found it kind of strange. I haven't given thought to it, since i use those rims for my winters. But would definately suck if I decided to sell the car.

Had the same problem, but only on the front wheels. I took the car in and they replaced them both, no questions asked. I was surprised, as I expected them to sand/repaint.

I agree with that, go and ask the dealer first. I don't think there are actual paint codes for the rims, or that information isn't public knowledge.. If you're going to paint them, I suggest simply that you choose the color yourself and paint all the four rims, easiest that way and there won't be any color differences between the rims or parts of the rims.

Were you within warranty or out of warranty? My car has 70k miles and is out of standard warranty so the dealer said that it is not covered. They also said that the corrosion warranty did not apply to the wheels. If your car was out of warranty and they fixed it, that could help.

I checked with two dealers who did not want to do anything about the bubbling on the wheels.
One offered to cover half the costs, and have me pay about 400 dollars. I decided against it.
I was under warranty.
YMMV.
