I touch the exterior black button on the door to lock and nothing. I am scratching my head wondering why I cannot lock the door, then after a while, I realize the car is still running....

For some reason, the last 3 days, I have done it 3 times. Ugh!

Am I the only one here?

I can't see how you can do that haha, I always see the speedometer lit up so I know the car is it.

I've done it 4 times in 3 years. I figured out I pressed the start/stop too quickly and the car didn't shut off. Walked away and came back to the car still running.

One time it was for about 2 hours! Yuck.

I forgot the car switched on once in the heat, more than 5 hours, AC Switched off! The keys were inside too.

It was like a sauna inside, The ODO screen + that info screen (temperature, mpg ..etc) changed from blue to VIOLET! The CD player wasn't working, gives me "CD ERROR" something like that. I switched off for an hour + I drove very slowly, and everything went back to normal lol.

I have proper 'exit' etiquette, only because i have to hide my GPS everyday, i'm sure if i didn't i'd forget to turn it off as well :P

correct.. outside door handle (the key hole with the rubber cover). Touch that and the doors will lock. Touch inside of door handle and all the doors open.

You're definitely not alone. I do it all the time in the h because you can't hear anything running. The long beep when you try to lock it while is is running is too quiet!

yeeeaaa i've done this a couple times. in the '08 is250's, if the car is on but the key is not in the car, can it be put in drive? i dont think it can, but havnt tested it.

Doesn't the car beep at you as you walk away with the key in your pocket while its still running to alert you that its still on, with no key?

Happened to me a couple times when I first got my car. Car is so quiet that I hardly notice it is still running. I usually have the radio/music on etc when I'm driving so when I exit my car, the radio is my indicator that the car is still running. Don't worry, happens to the best of us. You'll eventually get a routine down.
