Haven't had this happen, but there are times I go to turn on my blinker thinking it's not on when it already is. I drive with all windows down and sunroof open, and with some music going, it's hard to hear any ticking or clicking. The thing's quiet!

Yea, this has happened to me too. I was in a rush to get out of the car when it was raining, totally forgot to turn the engine off. Same thing happened in my dad's S class once

it happened to me too, but everytime when i tried to lock the car and it didn't work i would go back to check and turn the car off!

This threw me a couple of times

I stop the car but am not getting right out, and want to keep listening to the radio. So I keep the car in drive (yes, drive, foot on brake) and push the power button so that the engine shuts off but the radio stays on. Put car in park and at that point the ignition is in accessory mode - and the dash lights go off. Later I turn off the radio, get out, and try to lock the car. Can't!
