Default Recent Paint Work

I had my IS250's front end painted in early July after hitting a deer. Does anyone know how long I need to wait before applying polish/wax to the painted surface? I was told that if I wax the car too soon (before the paint has a chance to cure) I will get a cloudy appearance to the paint finish. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

It really depends on what type of paint they used. Was it PPG? If it were me, i'd wait 120 days before waxing. In the mean time, use a glaze to protect it. Like Meguiars #80

did your shop bake it? depends on their temperatures and baking time. most repair shops just bake it enough for paint to dry...not to "cure". 3 months is a good period if you think that is the case.

I believe the paint was Dupont Standox.

I think they said they baked it at about 180 degrees.

That's odd. I also had my front end repainted, but I was told that I could wax it right away. They did recommend waiting 30 days before applying a clear bra, though.

^Did you wax it? If you did, you should check for bubbles in the paint.

I didn't wax it, on account of the clearbra needing to be installed. Regardless, the paint is bubble-free.
