Default Has anyone experienced any serious problems with their 2IS?

I have friends who have serious problems with their BMW.. but in this forum. I have almost never read any post of serious problems with their car (e.g. Transmission, engine). So who has anyone had serious problem with their 2IS (cost, problem, do you push your car hard, milage, year)?

aside from a few minor things that have been taken care of through warranty repairs, i haven't had any serious problems.

I had a problem where I blew the seal on my timing belt cover and was spitting oil all over and on the verge of blowing my motor I took it to lexus they informed me of the problem gave me a rental car for 3 days filled my car up with gas and detailed it with an apology cause apparently that isnt supposed to happen at 36k miles
it was free due to warranty but cost the dealer $3000
and I dont push my car... I rape it now its at 60k and its a 2006

I had engine misfire. They replaced the valve springs. It reoccurred. Techs flew in from Japan and could not figure out the cause. They took the engine back to Japan and installed a new engine. Lexus agreed to buy back my car.

did you go through a lot of trouble. and damn they seem to try to actually figure out and fix the problem instead of oh, SOL for you.

Knocking on wood, but no problems yet aside from a few meaningless things that were easy fixes and covered under warranty. Buying a BMW is absolutely begging for problems and being bled like a pig at the dealership. Then again like most European brands there are those which get all hell and those which just don't get any problems whatsoever for 400,000 miles.

I have an 07 350 with 37K miles and no serious problems yet. It is my daily driver. I don't baby it nor do I push it hard. Hopefully no serious problems in the near future.

Based on my personal experience, service on German cars are PITA. It always seemed like something was wrong with my 3 series.

i have an 2008 and am just about near my first full year of having the car now around 15K. the car has taken quite a lot of abuse, plus that track day. i'd say that around 80 percent of my car has been modified in some way,and no serious problems. in fact no problems yet.

the only issue i ever have is the stock turanzas are absolutely awful when it comes to losing tire pressure quickly and unevenly.

I have to fill up and equalize tire pressures too often for my taste
