sweet s2k the only thing i would do is amuse wide body or ARP gt kit lol. i loved driving these around when i worked at honda they slide out realy easy if it was mine i would sell the oem hard top for 5k and by a mooncraft one have fun with the s2k there alot of fun i just couldnt have one for my only driver maybe for a project or toy car

That pimptastic intake is the same one I had on mine. Sounds great but for a grand I won't do it on my next one. I'll put that money towards boost. Nice car BTW.

Being a turbocharged lover myself, I'd much rather use a turbo on the S2K than go NA. You will have your torque back and then some. Sure the off the line launch won't be that much still but the payoff at even the midrange will be substantial. Honda Twin cam engine are lacking that one thing. They respond extremely well to boost since the engines are extremely efficient in NA form. A 500 hp capable 60mm turbo charger delivers power everywhere where it matters. IMO, they are much more streetable with boost than w/o. But to each his own.
IMO, IS350s are great DDs but not what I consider performance vehicles for a technical track like MSR Cresson. IMO, even the IS-F isn't ideal for that track since the vehicle is ~200lbs. heavier and doesn't have a larger tire patch on the road. It is one of the reasons why I'm running 18X8.5/9.5 LE37s with 235/285 tires on my IS350. On the 3 road courses events at MSR I've driven, the IS350 was one of the vehicles I drove and it was scary enough that I'd say I would be fighting an IS-F much more at that track than an IS350. And the lap times wouldn't be significantly better unless the track had a lot of long straights like Eagles Canyon or Texas World Speedway. However, I plan on keeping the IS350 for a DD for several years to come and I've hardly even crossed the 2 yr mark yet.
I had a very hard time keeping up with an AP1 in MSR Cresson. I did run a faster lap that he did but that wasn't me being a better driver. It was from the VDIM helping me in the turns. My IS350's weight penalty was what I had to fight throughout the turns. Every time that S2k was infront of me it got away in the turns. I managed to pass him every lap on the straights but had to let him pass me when we got into the hairpins.
If I had to select a road course vehicle an APx would definitely be on my list. But I'm sorry to say, the JZA80 will be ahead of it.

I've never driven a turbocharged car that I liked, and definitely not one that I would want to track. I started taking my Acura to autocrosses and track events at Texas World Speedway back in '95, and continued tracking other cars up until I traded my S2000 for the IS350. I don't think there would be a snow ball's chance in hell that a similarly equipped and equally driven IS could keep up with an S2000.

It played out like this: I finished my work day, walked out to the spot where I parked my car, and it was gone. No broken glass, nothing.
After filing the police report, I received a call the following day from Miami-Dade police that my vehicle was recovered in another county. When I picked it up, everything was gone....seats, dash, all the electronics, my Enkei wheels, HKS exhuast...everything.
Officer told me it looked like the top was slashed in order to get in, and then it was towed away, as evidenced by the torn off front bumper.
I myself have a S2000 and a IS250, LOVE THEM BOTH!
I guess I can see how the IS250 AWD would be nice in Minnesota, but that wouldn't interest me at all in Texas. I'm surprised anyone buys the IS250 around here.

The conditions you describe wouldn't worry me either. This type of obstruction would make no difference in stop and go traffic since the air is drawn through the radiator with fans at slow speeds. What I'm concerned about is 30 minutes of nearly constant WOT on a track, where the radiator needs as much air as possible pushed through it. I won't be surprised if this scoop reduces air flow by 20% at speed, which would easily cause a problem on a track.
