Default Rim confusion

I'm a little confused on Lexus' current F-sport rims.

The ISF has new rims as can be seen on the website. However, it seems like you can only get those rims by actually buying an ISF... the F-sport rims only seem to offer last years ISF rims. Is this true?

F sport rims are not the same as the 08-09 model wheels of the ISF.

The Fsports are like 2grand while the older model ISF wheels are 6grand. someone please correct me if i am wrong.

also i do not believe you can separatly buy the newer ISF wheels

hmm, u sure bout that? it doesn't make sense that the f-sport rims are different than the isf rims when the specs and looks are identical.

cost difference could simply be that when upgrading to f-sport rims, you get credit for the rims you have. otherwise, how else could you justify the cost? it also wouldn't make sense from a factory perspective to have 2 sets of rims b/c of increased costs incurred, especially if they are virtually identical.

anyway, speculations aside, is there any solid info about whether the 2010 isf wheels are available separately?

f-sport rims are not for isf, they are for is250/350. f-sport rims are cheap because they are made by a taiwan company, and the is-f rims are over 6k they are made by bbs. 2 different type of rims.

The F-Sport rims are still forged aluminium, last I checked, which is high quality.

i see, i guess i was fairly confused about all this!

so my next question is whether it is possible to get aftermarket rims that look somewhat like the 2010 ISF rims. I tried searching myself but turned up nothing close.

Search for 'mesh' style rims, I'm fairly certain you'll find something interesting. If you want to keep an OEM look you might want to look at the G-Spyder rims. They are fairly similar.

thanks for the info!

don't know whether anyone else can confirm or deny, but i just spoke to my dealer and he feels that it is possible to get the new 2010 ISF wheels for an IS 350... but I haven't gotten a 100% yes on it yet.

well, i cannot confirm fitment, but IS350 brakes are thicker (as in wider) than the the IS-F brakes - so there is a potential to rub with with wheels of certain offsets.
