NOTHING… If you didn’t know it unlocks by pressing the button again. I was lucky since I didn’t get the chance to unlock the doors first before throwing my backpack in the trunk w/ my key fob inside of it. I thought we were going to be locked out until somebody came w/ my spare.

yeah I think that's what the trunk open button was designed for.

Lol I didn't know this. I locked my keys in the trunk when I was installing my lip and I panicked. I left the door open though luckily (for my knowledge then).

I have read in the past that this isn't fool proof. iono. My GF has left her keys in her purse and we lock it in the trunk. Sometimes it'll let me lock it, sometimes it won't. I have the wallet key.

LOL!! Are you implying Lexus engineers did a survey and found out people who buy Lexus are idiots?

I'm a victim!! I still can't stop laughing when my wife drove my IS. She hits the start button, backs up and I wave good bye. Seconds later she yells, what is that beeping noise. I said fasten your seatbelt. She replied, it's on. Wheres the car key? Ooops, had the key in my pocket. LOL

I'm not surprised that it works this way.

But sometimes I wonder if this keyless ignition thing is more gimmick than substance.

you guys do realize that having the key fob in your trunk is like having the key fob in your pocket (distance wise to sensors)
