When I installed my F-Sports, I did not smell such thing so when I trust drove the car after the midpipes, I thought something went wayyyyy wrong and panicked.

Now that I know it's normal, these midpipes aren't so bad after all

The reason for the brief burning smell and white smoke is due to how these pipes are manufactured...when using a mandrel bending machine, it uses a lubricant when bending the pipes...that lubricant is what you are smelling and seeing burn off, which is perfectly normal and fine and will go away

Yep, the smell is due to the chemicals used in manufacturing of the exhaust pipes. I put a brand new agency power exhaust with Megan y pipe and test pipes on my old G35 coupe. I had a funny burning smell for about two days after the install.
