I asked the dealer he said no such feature..
Sometimes i walk away and i forget whether i locked or dint lock. Thats real pissing off. Hahahah.

Do some of you forget to lock when ur outside? As i know most of u don lock at home, does it become a habbit that u forget to lock?

I've forgotten to give the valet guy my key when exiting the car once... luckily he chased me down.

I remember about 2 years ago when I was late for class and parking was horrible, I ended up letting my gf go find parking since she was getting her teacher credentials at the same school I attended. The thing about keyless entry is that it's always in my pockets, so I left already while my gf drove to the other side of campus to find parking. Realized the key was still in my pocket so she couldn't lock it. If autolock is one thing the car needs, another would be automatic engine shut off once key is not detected.

Someone refresh my memory--what happens when you lock the doors with the INSIDE lock button, then get out and close the door? [I do know that they automatically unlock if the key is detected inside the car]

Yup. Tried it. You can use the inside lock button then close the doors. No need to have your key to lock the doors.

The car doesn't autolock. I have an '09 and I just tried it. I unlocked my driver door, closed it and went inside. Then came back out 5 mins later and it was still unlocked.

It should only autolock if you unlock it and don't open the door for 30-90 seconds.

The auto kill switch is a bad idea. I have a gate and I need to close it after I get out. If there was a kill switch, I would have to constantly restart my engine(badddd). Right now it just beeps when I leave the car to close the gate while the engine runs.

i remember by good old 1989 acura legend had the auto lock feature. if u walk out of the car, i think if u want 30 seconds to 1 minute, the car locks on all doors would lock up. Nice passive alarm. It was nice, but at the same time, i locked my keys in the car 2 times n it sucked.

I would like this feature and if the car will not lock when it locates the key fob in the car. maybe Lexus can add this into the future LPS setting

One feature that my Clifford alarm had on my Supra that I wish the IS had is where I can get out of my car while it's running, lock the doors so I can run inside say the video store to drop off a movie or inside the gas station to grab a drink. Granted this feature was more useful for Turbo engines since it was good to avoid shutting the engine off right after driving to allow the oil to cool the turbos and for the oil itself to cool somewhat. I actually used the feature all the time for short 1-2 min runs into the store...

Then again, my Clifford could also roll up my windows when I armed the system and had remote start, two things the factory system on the IS can't do.

As far as auto lock when you turn off the car and exit the vehicle and walk away, what happens when the driver does this with a passenger still sitting in the car?

I'm usually pretty paranoid about forgetting to lock my doors. Sometimes I lock by pressing the button on the door handle. Then using the remote when I get to about 10 feet away.
