Default Luminics vs. Nokya

Whats the difference between the 2500k 55w bulb and the 2500k 70w bulb? is there light output difference the nokya is the 70w and the luminics is the 55w.

Hi guys,......

Our cars as most run on 12 volt supply so any increase in wattage "electrical power" will lead to more curent "amps". The more amps produced equals more heat and the problem isn't the wire but any point where there is a joint or termination at the end of a wire like the point between the bulb prongs and bulb receiver.

Here is the calculation for OHMS law ..............

voltage (E) = current (I) X resistance (R)

power (W) = voltage (E) X current (I)

.... 55 watt bulb

(P)= 55 watts (divided by) (E)= 12 volts ... equals = 4.58 amps (I)

.... 70 watt bulb

(P)= 70 watts (divided by) (E)= 12 volts ... equals = 5.83 amps (I)

I know it isn't a huge increase in current but it's enough to case a problem on some cars. My neighbour changed his DRL's on his BMW and after 3 months the connector to the bulb burnt out causing a short and taking out the harness and lighting control modual............ this is by far the most extreem I have ever heard of.

Sorry for the long post I got carried away, hope it helps.

Edz

I had Nokya for my fogs. They were good until they blew. I heard Luminics were better.

same price?

the bulbs are like $20, the absolute cheapest hid kit on here is like $70, most are at least $100.

Bulbs are also a simple 5 min install. The hid conversion for fogs is going to require bumper removal. Not saying the work isnt worth the final product.

oh and ive had luminics on my car for over a year now and they are still going strong.

Luminics FTW! Plus... draws less power, so there is less of a chance the harness will melt

I have luminics 2500K and it still runs good for at least 1.5yrs now. I'm still waiting for it to die out so I can upgrade to HID but it just won't...oh well

You definitely don't want to go with anything over your stock wattage.
Our putco bulbs (backed by a lifetime warranty from Putco) will blow both out of the water =)
