Just wanted to let everyone know your voices have been heard!

Here is the TSIB: L-SB-0012-12. Released back on 3/7/2012.

http://is.sewellparts.com/pdf/L-SB-0012-12.pdf

Hopefully when you guys show this to the dealership that they will fix this for you with no charge. I'll be bringing my car to see if the will replace it soon.

Good luck!

I also did this a few months back and it was super easy due to this thread. Took about an hour with the majority of the time being getting the old glue out. Really helped reduce the wind noise for me as mine were starting to peel up a bit and where whistling like crazy on the freeway. So quite now.

How much is everyone normally paying out of pocket for this?

Cost of trim plus clips, I have heard $122? labor is by you. Parts costs (2 sides) $82 then a pack of 10 clips $40. This is from Sewell with the discount (our CL discount).

Just wanted to point out that you should be EXTREMELY careful when removing the old clips and not use a METAL flat head to remove them... I just cracked my windshield glass. And to think that I actually have a freaking clip removing kit... Extremely pissed off right now but well lesson learned. I think you should note it on the DIY with red bold letters lol Just as a warning for noobs like me. The gap is wide enough to work around but my screw driver was a little too think for the upper clips and the gap is smaller as you go up the windshield side.... I noticed it too late... Well brand new windshield for me now

Do you need 5 clips total or 5 for each side?

Is there a separate thread that addresses this molding on the RX300?

Just a quick update. I had my car serviced and asked if the drip molding could be replaced. I showed the service rep the TSIB and I have the platinum extended warranty on my car. Unfortunately, they would not repair/replace it as it's not covered according to them. He did recommend for me to call Lexus corporate to see if they can do anything but that route has been covered by many here. Looks like it will be a DIY for me. Anyone get theirs replaced for free at Maggneussen Lexus in Fremont?

Do you mean the plastic molding on the roof that runs on the side?
