As for tires, what tires are you getting, the OEMs? I think $1,300 for the Turanzas or Potenza RE050As isn't THAT terribly bad if that includes mount, balance, and install for all 4 in 18"s. I'm with the guy above, don't cheap out, too much, on tires.

As others have said $1300 is crazy stupid for tires go to tire rack and get something comparible to what you have now. Also if you have a toyo dealership near by many times they can do the same work only cheaper.

It doesn't sound that outrageous to me if you plan on keeping the car for years after the warranty. I did my differential service at 5k miles but that's because I know there are deposits and shavings in there from the break-in process for the rear end. Recommending those things at 30k is not ridiculous at all. He left out a brake fluid exchange, that ought to be done every 2 yrs. Your car could also needs brakes or whatnot but they wouldn't recommend anything to you unless you needed it. Dealerships aren't such crooks anymore..

Huh??? That is at least $400 - $500 overpriced (if not more like $600 - $700)

You also said that he should replace the differential fluid if he plans on keeping the car past the warranty period. Care to show us where the owner's manual tell us to change the differential fluid at that mileage? It doesn't.

One other thing - DO NOT LET THE DEALER TALK YOU INTO ANYTHING THAT THE OWNER'S MANUAL DOESN'T SPECIFICALLY CALL FOR. Ask them to show you specifically is wrong with the car if they claim you need something else to be done.

Really? Price it out on Tirerack.com and let me know how much it costs for four (4) either Turanza ER33s or Potenza RE050As with shipping and tax. Then add the cost to have them mounted, balanced, and installed (at least $30-40 each in my neck of the woods) and tell me you're not relatively close to $1,300.

Again, this is also making the assumption he has the 18" wheels, the 17s might be a little cheaper for OEM tires/sizes.

And if READ my post, you will see no where that I said he should change differential fluid. I said it's a good idea to get 30/60/90k services is he plans on keeping the car long term. Someone said they had theirs done after break-in, but that was not me.

There are good tires for a lot cheaper. $1300 if including balance = average $300 per tire. Thats a bit overpriced. Places like tirerack will be able you offer you 4 nice tires with balance for easily under $1k.

Wiper inserts is necessary, but can buy it from sewell and install it yourself. It takes 10mins max. I would recommend changing your wiper inserts if you see streaks, its really a cheap maintenance that makes a huge difference driving in the rain.

New set of stock tires -------> shop around at tirerack.com (~$800)
Wheel Alignment -------> outside technician for ~ $70.
New wiper inserts ------> $18
Replace Rear Differential Fluid -------> i thought this should be done during 60K service
Flush out Intake System -------> is this even necessary?

i agree with these guys 100%.
differential fluid should be changed every 30k on every vehicle, or sooner depeinding on use/abuse. high performance vehicles demand more rigorous fluid changes than a civic. Diff oil breaks down under heat, the rear diff creates a lot of heat when driving.
also agree with brake fluid flushes every 15k or 2 years. brake fluid is hygroscopic; it attracts water even in a semi sealed system ina car. water causes brake fade, and internal rust on brake components requiring expensive replacement ina few years. (master cylinders, calipers, etc.)

let me let you guys in on a secret....
the owners manual service recommendations are createdt o make the car look maintenance free, or almost maintenance free.
it's not what's best for the car, it's what's best to sell the car in a competitive marketplace.
it's like platinum sparkplugs and their 100k mile service intervals. they were created for2 reasons:
1. becasue modern cars are difficult to access the spark plugs, necessitating higher service times and therefore higher service costs to the customer.
2. to make it look like the customer won't have to pay as much for services since they aren't required to be changed until 100k or whatever.

the ironic thing is that even though marketing would have you believer otherwise, platinum plugs are junk when it comes to performance and gas mileage. htey are too hard!
for performance and efficiency, a good old fashioned 2 dollar copper plug is best. (as longa s you don't mind changing them every 30k miles).
sorry for the rant, i just hate when people don't know everything they need to to make a good decison.

OP, shop online for your tires, you'll save money.
get your alignment done at lexus, they will guarantee it to be straight and true.
change the inserts yourself if you are so inclined or let lexus do it.
same goes for the rear diff. you could actually change it yourself pretty easily. it has a drain plug and a filler hole.

No to Sumitomo Htrz III tires. I had them and after about 5000 they hound like a dog, as mentioned also by someone else on the forum.

I wouldn't put the stock tires back on if my life depended on it. Heck I got my Nitto Invos for $500 less than what the dealer quoted you.

Wow he must need some crack money. I don't understand why you need to change your tires at dealerships. I could get all of that done for about $700.
